Why You Should Be A Bonfire Chat Panelist

by Gigi Ross on August 1, 2013

For those of you who don’t know, Bonfire Chat is a companion series to my guest post series called Around the Bonfire.

Around the Bonfire brings you a new woman’s voice each week sharing a topic that you’d find a group of women discussing around a campfire or bonfire with some wine. We’ve covered everything from aging parents to high school sweethearts to body image and everything in between. The posts have been nothing short of amazing. In fact, for the month of August, I’m currently featuring  the best bonfire posts of the last year. If you’d like to submit to be a guest poster, you can go here.

And the chats? Well, they’ve been pretty amazing too, since I kicked them off in last May. You can check out my YouTube channel to watch some of the recorded chats. It’s honestly been one of my favorite gifts of blogging.

What makes Bonfire Chat so special is that we bring together a group of DIFFERENT women each week to discuss the topic for that week’s guest post. There’s always a new and fresh perspective. Connections are formed. New friendships are made. Insight is shared. I think that everyone who has participated has taken something great away from being a part of it.

Despite having nearly 100 women on my panelist list, we are always hungry for new faces! With tight life schedules, it can be tough to find 4 to 6 women to participate in the weekly chats.

I think you’d be perfect. So here’s why you should consider signing up to be on my Bonfire Chat Panelist Interest List.

1. I promote you. Everywhere that the chat is promoted, your blog and Twitter handle and all that good stuff is promoted too.  Since the chats are held in Google Plus, that means you get some nice Google juice, too. Because everybody knows that G+ is only going to get bigger.

2. You meet fun friends. I am blown away each week when two amazing women who didn’t know each other totally connect during a chat.

3. You learn about Hangouts on Air. It’s the wave of the future, people! Get on board and learn how they work!

4. It’s a speaking gig. If you’re interested in developing opportunities to speak at events or conferences, you can list panelist participation as a speaking engagement!

More Bonfire Chats will be kicking off in September, and I’d love to have you join our group of amazing, smart, lovely women who bravely share their stories each week.

Are you in? Go here to sign up for the interest list.

I LOVED speaking! More than that though, I loved connecting on something personal with others and knowing that I was around people that got me and got my situation.

This is a FANTASTIC series! Can I get a “Panelist on Bonfire Chat” badge with that adorable flower up there? I’d love to link it back to the YouTube channel because I think people have missed some wonderful conversations. I know I have. Going there now! 😉

This is a fantastic idea to open it up to more people. I love your chats because they talk about real issues which face all women. You can tell that these bring people together and make people know they are not alone in their journey.

Yes, I’d love to have a badge on my site as well. And let me know what topics you have coming up.

Considering how mine went, I’m not sure I should step into those waters again!!! LOL
Actually- I might really love to join this, if I can get the nerve up again.
Thinking… 😉

Definitely something to think about and consider! I don’t have a webcam so for the time being being a panelist is a no go for me (sad face, I know) but it’s something I’m interested in doing down the road.

Done and done! Still bitter that I missed out on the body image sex talk due to other commitments. Can’t wait to see what you’ve got planned going forward Gigi.

Yes, I’d love to be on a panel, do you have a list of upcoming ones?

SO glad to have been a part of it this year. It really was a great experience for me. Thanks for welcoming us and so many great topics, Gigi!

It does seem like so much fun, but we have really slow connection and skype doesn’t work well for us (nor Facetime)). We should get some improvement in that in the next year or so.
