Hey, y’all.
I’m still on a a high from Saturday night’s Jason Mraz concert. In case you were interested, I got no job offers to be on his social media team, despite providing what I thought was a clever and funny “application.”
I did, however, want to share a couple of updates from my blogging front.
First, I’ll be contributing a few times a month to Travel Mamas. TravelMamas is a great blog for learning about how to travel smarter, faster, safer and easier with kids in tow.
For the next few months, I’ll be covering some local to San Diego type of events. After that, we’ll see what comes up on our travel horizon! My first TravelMamas post went live on Friday. It’s all about the Disney Wonder cruise ship tour I took about ten days ago. If you’re considering cruising, and wanted to get more of an insider’s look at why Disney cruises in particular are good for families, you’ll want to check out my post.
I’m also getting really excited that it’s October, because that means I’ll get to see some of you at Bloggy Boot Camp. I’m speaking at both the Vegas and Chicago conferences this year about monetizing your blog and using your blog as a platform to make money in other ways.
Bloggy Boot Camp Chicago is an extended version of the traditional BBC conference, and will be devoted SOLELY to the topic of the “business” of blogging. If you have an interest in this topic, there will be all sorts of experts, PR reps and brands there to give you the skinny on how to manage this aspect of blogging.
The gals at BBC, Tiffany and Fran, describe the Chicago experience like this:
This conference is not for the hobby blogger.
If you have been blogging for at least a year, have worked on a brand campaign, you know what a media kit is and how to use it and consider your blog a business, this event is for you.
It’s been almost 9 months since I’ve been to a conference, and I’m really looking forward to meeting more bloggers and sharing some of my experiences – both positive and negative – on how I’ve used my blog as a platform to build my own career. If you’re attending either BBC Vegas or BBC Chicago, leave me a comment below so I can be sure to connect with you!

I so very much wish I could go to either of those BBCs. My conference budget is so teeny tiny I can’t justify it
Apparently my husband is not swayed by my desire to hug you again.

I’m so jealous and sad I won’t see you. I would love to go to Vegas to see you guys. Alas, I’d need a full sponsorship (and perhaps a sitter since I’d have to bring the frog princess with me) to attend. Argh! I’m buying a lotto ticket this week, just in case
.
Heading over to TravelingMamas!

Oh, I love Travel Mamas – how fun for you! And I would simply love to attend BBC in Chicago, but haven’t yet figured out a way to make that happen. Still mulling it over, though…:)

I would love a conference but whatevs, I am saving to come to Cali and just make a sleep over night with you. I can only imagine how awesome it would be to talk blogging and SO MUCH MORE. You know I want to see that house and all the changes you made! That’s all kind of up my alley. Good luck speaking and just wait for me to call you and ask if I can crash.

Oh how I would love love to hear you speak! Wish I wasn’t a starving student, I think Chicago would have been totally doable. My loss for sure.
