hp printer giveaway
Yes, I’m giving away a HP ENVY 4500e-All-in-One printer to one lucky winner. #Woot

But first, I want to talk  board games.

I just so happen to adore them. My kids do, too. Short of Chutes and Ladders, which I wholeheartedly despised, I could play games all day.

Board games are simple, old-fashioned fun, and a great way to get family time.

Have you played tablet versions of board games? I’ve been disappointed. The tablet screen is really small, everybody hovers over it and you can’t see, some of the elements of the game don’t translate well.

So I was admittedly a little bit dubious when I got the HP ENVY Rove20 TouchSmart All-in-One PC and they suggested I play some board games on it.

I was all, “what, we’re going to sit in each other’s laps while we look at a monitor to play a game?

Nope.

The Rove TouchSmart has a 20-inch touchscreen, people. It’s humongo (my word). And? It functions like a PC OR a tablet depending on what you’re using it for. You see, it has a hinged design that lets you stand the PC up, like a normal computer..

hp touchsmart

or lay it flat on the table for family gameplay:

hp touchsmart

The Rove TouchSmart has a variety of built-in games ready to go. Some are built and designed specifically for HP:

hp rove touchsmart

  • FINGERTAPPS Jigsaw Wars Puzzle (you battle to earn points while solving a jigsaw puzzle) – very fun
  • FINGERTAPPS Musical Instruments (HP-exclusive version) – think Rock Band for your PC
  • Chess, checkers, backgammon – great way to learn classic games with NO LOST PIECES!!!!
  • and many others!

And then, there’s Monopoly!

hp touchsmart

My kids have never had an interest in Monopoly before we got the TouchSmart. Now, my son asks to play nearly every night. I never realized what a great teaching tool it is about money management and risk taking. What kid can’t use a lesson in that?

You don’t need to spin the tablet around to take turns OR pass it between players, because the TouchSmart is big enough for everyone to see – and Monopoly is designed to adjust the screen to where players are sitting.

There are helpful tutorials for newer players, and the engaging graphics are true to the original Monopoly game – while adding fun and exciting digital elements like sound effects, music, a touch-activated dice roller, and more. Also? It’s got BEATS Audio!

hp touchsmart

The other really great thing about the large screen on the TouchSmart is staying connected with family and friends across the miles. It’s perfect for Skyping or Google Hangouts. It’s got a nice, solid webcam (the giant screen size means the whole family can fit in the picture) and your kids can chat up Grandma or Aunt Susie on the holidays!

My kids also really love the preloaded YouCam, which lets you take videos and pictures of yourself, or family members, with your webcam and then alter the photos with virtual crayons and other drawing tools!

hp touchsmart

I’ve been really busy enjoying this TouchSmart.

I shared my cute free printable chore chart.

I also showed you how to make your own customizable labels for all the stuff your kid loses at school.

I shared how to make my FAVORITE kids’ birthday party favor – customizable birthday CDs with cute labels.

And now I’ve given you a sneak peek at how the Ross family does board games. (We’re out for blood).

I’ve pinned all of this, and more, to my Epic Ways To Use Your PC and Printer Pinterest board, if you’d like to check it out.

There are many more great features on the  HP ENVY Rove20 TouchSmart All-in-One and the HP ENVY 4500e-All-in-One printer  – see for yourself! But now, let’s get to the GIVEAWAY.

One lucky reader will win their very own  HP ENVY 4500e-All-in-One printer.  You.will.love.it. The e-print feature is one of my favorites. If I am away from home and need to print an email? I just send an email to my personalized HP email address and when I get home, my printed copy is waiting for me. I also love the streamlined style. I just moved our big, bulky printer up to the kids’ study area and now I have the Envy’s sleek, low-profile design in my office.

Sweet.

HP Envy Printer

WOOT! It’s perfect timing, too: with the holidays rapidly approaching, you can use the new printer to make gift tags, holiday cards, labels, and much, much more!

So let’s get to it!

Rules: One winner will be selected at random. Enter via Rafflecopter below. Your mandatory entry is to leave a comment, telling me what holiday project you’d use your new printer for. Optional entries are also available.

This giveaway is limited to U.S. residents only and will begin at midnight on October 10,  and end at midnight on Wednesday, October 16, 2013. Winner will be contacted via email. If winner does not respond within 48 hours of being contacted, another winner will be selected.

GOOD LUCK PEEPS!!!!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Disclosure: this post and giveaway is sponsored by HP. All opinions are my own. I am swooning over Pinterest on that 20″ screen. For real.

I always send a stack of photos and a little letter to my non Internet savvy relatives in Christmas cars.- so I’d use it for that!

I often need to print things for our homeschool, and it would be great to not have to go to the Kinkos several times a week to do it!!

Sarah Wills October 10, 2013 at 5:57 am

I would use it to print my digitally designed Christmas Cards – no more waiting for a 10 day order processing period – can you tell I am inpatient? :-)

Ann October 10, 2013 at 8:05 am

I’d definitely be using it for Christmas cards; gosh I’d probably even start giving out Halloween & Thanksgiving cards!

Dawney Glenn October 10, 2013 at 8:21 am

Oh, I could do a lot with this printer. Christmas Cards; Encouraging “posters” for my office and my kids; printing business cards and painting info for my next showing. Lots and lots of stuff

Birdie Skolfield October 10, 2013 at 8:44 am

I will use it for printing 234 Snowman Party invitations for our school winterfest

Melissa from the Blue House October 10, 2013 at 9:14 am

Ooh, I have two little girls with birthday parties coming up, and I’d LOVE to have a new printer to print their party invites! Does that count as a holiday? Because financially the ‘holidays’ start NOW for me, through Christmas, until, of course, MY birthday in February. 😉 But I’d probably also use the printer for some gift tags at Christmas or something. 😉

wendy October 10, 2013 at 9:15 am

I really like the idea of doing gift tags! Especially because we play “Secret Santa” so my horrible chicken scratch writing won’t give away who the gift is really from!

Charlene Ross October 10, 2013 at 10:16 am

I write a holiday letter every year, so I’d definitely use it for that. And of course labels to mail the letters. Oh, and holiday tags and sticker – the possibilities are endless. Fabulous prize!

Cynthia October 10, 2013 at 10:54 am

I’ve never written a family newsletter but have received them from friends and family. This just might inspire me to do one!

Anna October 10, 2013 at 11:53 am

Christmas cards for sure. But if I had a reliable printer, I’d probably go a little crazy and do ornaments and covers for photo/gift books. Awesome!

AlexandraFunFit October 10, 2013 at 1:14 pm

I’d use it for my younger son, as he needs one for his school homework. He keeps having to use mine! Boo on that! I want to say that the games tablet thing seems cool too, from the perspective of special needs. Again, regarding my younger son, he never liked games, but perhaps on a tablet.

Judy October 10, 2013 at 2:00 pm

Ooh, ooh, ooh. This printer sounds great. My printer is so old that it doesn’t do anything anymore. Would love to have a printer that would print my photos.
