How To Make Your Facebook Page Look Like Your Pinterest Board

Wouldn’t it be swell?

Wouldn’t it be fab?

Wouldn’t you just swoon if Facebook looked more like Pinterest?

Well now, it can.

I stumbled across this really neat new beta Facebook app yesterday called Pinview that renders your Facebook account into a Pinterest-style board. Here’s what my news feed looks like rendered in Pinview:

My own wall?

Apparently I blah-blah-blah comment more than I post photos.

pinview You can also display *only* photos, videos or your friends. When I filter by photos, this is what my Pinview board looks like:

Pretty spiffy, huh?

The only thing I don’t love about this is the interaction piece. Instead of being able to like or comment on a friend or brand’s status or photo inline, like you can on your Facebook feed, you actually have to click the photo or update and wait for a little box to pop up (a la Pinterest) that allows you to comment, share or like. I think they are still working on glitches, because I was unable to comment or like any of the 4 or 5 photos I tested the feature on.

The app has a lot of great potential, and is a sign that people are thirsty for more and better visuals on Facebook. So the two questions that come up for me are a) do we really want an app that encourages us to spend even more time on Facebook, and b) how long will it be before Facebook buys Pinterest?

Oh, that’s cool. I’ve been thinking about how I like navigating through really visual stuff more than plain old lists.

That looks so cool!!! I wish I’d have come up with that idea.

Wow, it looks awesome. I don’t think I’d use it if people can’t easily like and comment… ’cause, that’s kind of the whole point of sharing photos on Facebook. But I love the idea of having more control over how my fb page displays information.

How cool, not sure if I will use it because I will be even more confused than I already am on the constant facebook changes but such a neat option. Pinterest is taking over the world.

VERY interesting, it’s worth checking out. I hope they fix the glitches and make ‘liking’ and ‘commenting’ as easy as on the current Facebook. Good post, thanks for sharing. I guess I should spend more time on Facebook anyway. ;-)

My name is Thomas Petersen and I am the creator of the app.

The tings you are annoyed about (rightfully) will be fixed in an update very soon.

Thank you so much for the review.
