Welcome to Friday Flip-Offs! Get rid of your weekday angst! Meet some fab bloggers!
Please come back next Thursday for my big blog challenge announcement, too. I hope you’ll be as excited about it as I am!
Also, I will not be doing Friday Flip-Offs next week due a scheduled conflict. Would any of my lovely friends like to be the Guest Host Flipper for the day and host the flip-offs? Let me know.
Okay. Without further ado…let the flips begin!
To my right hand, shoulder, back, and leg. FLIP OFF. I know this is a serious blogging disorder. I know I spend to much time on the computer. But I’m sick of my hand hurting and my leg being numb. I don’t have time or a babysitter to go get a massage to fix this pinched nerve!
To the Isuzu Ascender car that was in front of me on the road today: FLIP OFF. Why do you drive 30 miles under the speed limit? The name of your car is ASCENDER. Can you ASCEND your speed limit, please?
To competitive kids’ sports: FLIP OFF. PENALTY. FOUL. I get really tired of teams being formed for every damn sport and my kid not being asked to be on them. Is he the most athletic? No. Is he a good kid who tries his very best and awesomely cheers his friends on? Yes. Do we need to be that serious about winning at age 7? Hell to the no. Go away.
To Google, again. Flip OFF and GO GOOGLE YOURSELF. I read a lot of blogs. Over 200 in my Google Reader. So I don’t really have TIME, Google, for you to generate an error in my Google account every time I try to sign in and leave a comment on someone’s blog. And then, when you finally allow me to sign in, you give me some other weird Blogger error that doesn’t accept my comment and puts this bizarre red square symbol next to “submit comment”. And then I have to try and submit a third time. And then, you take me aback up to the top of the comments page, so I have to then scroll down and MAKE SURE my comment has submitted. I could read 2 more blogs with the time I waste dealing with your asstastic interface.
Have a great weekend, everybody.

Go Google yourself? I might have to steal that for use in everyday life.
I’ve never had a problem with Google Reader but I don’t follow anywhere close to 200 blogs.
I actually wrote a post called ‘Blogger’s Hand’ about the pains us bloggers get.

Can’t wait to hear your announcement!
And I HATE when google does that!
I hate leaving a second comment but I accidently hit ‘Post’ before I finished. Flip Off, post button!
I was never the one chosen for teams but I think I turned out okay.
And if you don’t find anyone who is totally awesome, this geek could guest post.

Ohhh…good one….I should have flipped off Google and Blogger too. I keep getting that same message and then it makes me sweat because you have to go through the steps again and again and then i FLIP THEM OFF! lol!

I don’t understand why Google offers widgets, etc., but then they only work half the time. Which totally interferes with important stuff … like my blog reading. I feel ya!
After this week I’m ready to flip off the internet as a whole!

Totally agree with the Google flip! You would think since we spend SO much time on the darn site, it would give us some sort of special “never have to sign in again” pass.

AAAAMEN on that google flip off! What’s up with that? I’m going to kick google in it’s teeth if it doesn’t straighten up!
Good flips off.
Okay – the sports thing, wow. As for the blog hop – this will be my first!! Here goes NOTHING!

Um, I’d like to also join in on the google flip. They suck. So funny about the ascender. And couldn’t agree more about sports. My little man joined the big boys. Heaven help me.

Flipping off blogger today, for sure. Had me resign in like 50 times.
Love reading what you’re flipping off on Fridays, geeg. and what a clever idea to guest host.
You are a blogging genius.

I’ll flip Google right with ya, girl! I do thinks that my elbow is a result from spending too much time online too so yeah flip off big big time.
Have a great weekend.
Oh so excited for your announcement

I’m with you on the competitive sports stuff…seriously? Sends the wrong message, boy don’t get me started…I might start boycotting these things and do petitions and all. Oh my poor kids…I’m going to be one of THOSE Moms! Hope your pinched nerve gets better ASAP!

We’ve elected to put my kid in Tae Kwon Do and he loves it. And guess what? not to be outdone, all of the superathletes? doing football, soccer, and oh yeah. Now they have to do Tae Kwon Do, too.
I have been getting all sorts of errors in Google this week myself. I think there’s something in the water.
And I had no idea competitive sports started that young. Something I am not looking forward to!

Ooo, I’m looking forward to the announcement, exciting! You’ve reminded me that I meant to flip off Blogger for giving me weird messages saying I don’t belong to my blog when I try and comment!! I’m sure I do!

Go Google yourself, haha, love it! I have a few folks in the office today that might just hear that phrase if they step one pace closer to my desk …
Sorry, Gigi, but I’m going to have to flip you off for bringing back memories of not being picked when I was younger.
Though now that I’m older and I’m Asian, everyone always picks me to fix their computers. I guess to get back at ‘em, I could hit em with their keyboard like they hit me with dodgeballs back then. Actually, that’s a great idea….
Pop´s last [type] ..Revelations from Bird Poop on My Car
Awesome!!! The revenge of the keyboard!!!!!!
Oh, I feel the same way. The amount of time wasted that I could have gotten a blog and a comment in! It’s amazing how we mothers crunch our time to its max.
I’ve almost got your list done. Speaking of time crunch, so sorry it took me so long.
And let’s see, my Flip Off this week would have to be to all the political calls raining down upon my household. If you’re going to harass me with phone calls, chances are I’m not going to vote for you, because yes, that’s how informed citizens do things.
And do not get me started on the ridiculousness that is children’s sports these days! When did it become this? I abhor all the competitive teams and this mindset. It eats up every bit of free time a family has. Not to mention, those children who aren’t selected. Whatever happened to plain old recreational sports, having fun and learning a sport? I am so sorry for your boy. Stupid competitive sports.
My middle girl is a very good soccer player. She suffered a terrible broken ankle with tendon damage during a game 2 years ago. She has since tried to continue, but her ankle now “rolls” quite a bit when she plays, causing the ankle to pop out and causing her pain and swelling. She has decided not to play this year which will probably be the end of her “career”. I told her high school coach who was not happy and tried to convince us to let her play. when I told her, it would just continue to cause damage to her ankle, she told me to “Just get the surgery. they all do at that age.” so she could continue to play. My daughter is 15 years old.

Crunching time to the max is the perfect way to say it! So true!
That’s pretty shocking about your kid and the surgery. Otherwise healthy kids are having way too many surgeries anymore…I just don’t get it. We push them too hard.
I’m always up for a good Flip-Off; today I’m flipping off pneumonia… my poor Mama’s got it. Pneumonia, you suck!

I totally didn’t know you could comment inside of google reader. Guess I’m going to have to look into that! Love the Ascender one! Hope you get relief from that pinched nerve soon! Have a great weekend!
Tayarra´s last [type] ..Wordless Wednesday
You can’t comment in Google Reader….that was a different flip off. Reader takes blogs out of my feed that i don’t want it to; and then Google owns Blogger, which just sucks…Google, bad.
About that pain in your hand/shoulder/leg — have you considered changing things up at work for a bit? I broke my tailbone (coccyx, which is a funny word to type – cocks ix) a year & a half ago and was completely miserable for months. When I finally was able to sit down normally, I’d still be in severe discomfort after a few minutes in front of a computer. Eventually, I switched from my desk chair to a yoga/exercise ball . . . I get made fun of for being a hippie-dippie at work (well, not really, I’m a good several inches taller than everybody I work with), but I sit with MUCH better posture now and that kind-of works wonders throughout my body.
John´s last [type] ..When Inspiration Goes to Seed
Well, I don’t actually work. But I do have a yoga ball..maybe I’ll try that. My posture is, admittedly, horrible.
Right there with ya Gigi! My wrist are constantly aching. Probably because I type on my little laptop in my big comfy recliner. So lazy.
What the heck with the sports team. My oldest is the same way, give the kids a chance.

I would never use a recliner. I go straight to the bed.
Heheheheh, awesome! I’m going to have to try and participate in this little event next time around

Oh I am so glad you went off on the slow drivers, I ran out of room for them this week. It’s called a gas pedal USE IT!!
Google ~Right there with you, it has been acting funky for me too and it is driving me batty.
As for the sports teams, around here everyone pretty much makes the team and it’s great to see them root for each other. How else are you going to learn how to play and be part of a team. We are talking 7 here not 17. When they get to jr high or even high school it should be based on ability but not at 7. At 7 you are lucky if they are not out in center fields playing with a dirt clot.
Have a great day =) Hope your weekend is better and your pain goes away so you can enjoy it!

I just bought my domain yesterday and have had nothing but problems (went from blogspot dot com to just dot com). Is your domain with google (blogger….)
I’m just trying to get a handle on the best way to blog, and I feel like I’m failing miserably!
Don’t close the Friday Flip offs too soon, I still need to get in there! I don’t have time to post until later!….
Okay Gigi – I did a poor rendition of a Friday Flip Off – I will try to keep up with this little tradition .. but I was thinking – does my entire blog count as a flip off? I am quite the venter. LOL
Nicole Abdou´s last [type] ..Finding my strengths
yes, it can count. Mine is not exactly the warmest, fuzziest blog most of the time, either!
Good flips. I should start doing this so I can stop using my actual finger. I’d flip off (both manually and digitally) some of the – to steal your word – asstastic bloggers I met at BlogHer. Most great but some were heinous. Wish you’d been there.
This has been a consistent comment I’ve been picking up on BlogHer posts. You’ll have to give me a “bloggers to avoid” list when I go to San Diego next year
aawww, i am so touched that you recognized i was gone! thanks for the welcome back!
so sorry to hear about your body aches….have those myself ALL THE TIME due to arthritus! sounds like you need a vacation too!! or make your hubby give you that massage! have a good weekend!
Can we PLEASE write to Webster and add “asstastic” to the dictionary?

Amen to having to try out for sports teams at the age of 6 and 7. I know that kids need to learn the rigor of competition, but seriously life is hard enough without adding eminent failure to the young mind!

I hate when that error happens when leaving a comment. It makes me insane!
Blogging is making your entire body fall apart? My hands, arms, and wrists are mere remnants of their former selves, but the rest of me is hanging tough….so far.

Ooooh. I hate being stuck behind the slowbees. In Maryland? They like to hang out in the left lane & drive the rest of us absolutely insane. *sigh*
Also? I hated team-picking as a kid. It never failed to leave me feeling like crap. :\

Um…ow. That sucks about the shoulder. I’m sorry.
And I’m with you on the kids sports thing. For god’s sake people, they’re SEVEN YEAR OLDS. If you think your kid is such hot stuff, go to the league you pay for your own uniforms for. Leave us parents who just want their kids to get exercise and learn sportsmanship have the city leagues.
I second your flip!
Ow…maybe I shouldn’t have done that.

I can relate to the pinched nerve, as you know. Sucks big time. But go get a massage – you deserve it! And competitive sports? You’re in TEXAS, Gigi. Them thar people are crazy when it comes to sports. I remember when my brother and sister did baseball and basketball in Texas. Nuts, I tell ya.
Love the flip offs. Will one day get my act together and join! I have a lot of rage so it will be perfect for me.
I hope you join us soon!!!!! I know, I will never adjust to Texas and all that is…well, Texan.
Have a good week, KM! Hang in there one more week until the kids are BACK AT SCHOOL. I usually lament the fact that August is still the middle of summer everywhere else in the US except Texas – but then realize that kids being in school before Labor Day is actually a good thing.
Would it seem weird if I felt the urge to tell someone IRL to go google themselves? Seems somewhat amusing to me! But I am sooo with you on google, It’s very annoying, I hate when I get an awesome comment typed of and then of course google screws it all up!

google.is.the.worst. I’m continually amazed at how they are such a successful company. Of course, my bitching about them may explain why my Page Rank has dropped 20,000 in the last 4 days.
Who knew there was an entire day dedicated to flip offs?! I am so excited about this news, I had to stop to tear myself away from dancing on the ceiling in order to write this comment. I am so IN this Friday! Seriously, I can hardly wait. I’m grinning from ear to ear. And, oh… pick me, pick me! I’d love to be your guest flipper offer… that is one thing I can honestly say that I have mastered! Well, maybe not ONE thing. I’m pretty good at boiling noodles, too. Now that I have officially written the longest comment known to man… I’m spent.
