Okay, I have *one* more giveaway this week, actually!
Can you believe that I still have my very first school lunchbox? It was shaped like a little bus, with Disney characters all over it and a matching thermos. I loved the little tin box with the latch closure. Last year, when my son entered 1st grade, I went and got him a matching backpack and lunch kit from Gap Outlet. I was so disappointed with the lunch kit. It had a horribly weird shape and barely held a sandwich container, juice box and another item. Won’t be getting one of those next year!
So I was tickled when I found Frecklebox!
Frecklebox is a company that offers personalized gifts for kids. They have a whole line of really cool products, like growth charts, storybooks, wall art, stickers and…lunchboxes! Frecklebox let my son pick out his favorite lunchbox from their site and it arrived today. This is the model he selected:
He was so super excited when he opened the box. He said, “WOW! This lunchbox is COOL! And it’s so big, it’ll hold all my stuff!” He wanted to take it to his Tae Kwon Do class to show his friends! Oh, and Frecklebox sent free stickers with the shipment, which Boy Wonder immediately used on his lunchbox [his name would appear on the lunchbox but I have it blocked out for privacy reasons. I assure you it looks great!]
There are a couple of features that struck me right away. #1 – it is a really generous sized lunchbox! I like the depth of it because, unlike our Gap lunch kit from last year, it has room for a small thermos and more. #2 – it’s made of lead-free tin. Yay! #3 – there is a super cool chalkboard on the inside lid to write notes to your kid. I LOVE putting notes in my kids’ lunches so this was a really clever feature to me. #4 – the design on the outside is really bright and fun.
One of the other products that I think is incredibly useful is the personalized Sight Words pads. These are great for preschoolers, or kinder-first graders. I could see taking these to restaurants to keep kids busy while you wait for the food to arrive:
My kids are starting to get into posters as well, and Frecklebox has these personalized ones in a bunch of designs that are hip, but not too babyish:
So today, Frecklebox is offering one lucky winner a $30 online store credit toward the supercool kids’ item of their choice!
