Add Your Voice To The Bonfire

by Gigi Ross on July 19, 2012

As you read this, I’m hopefully sleeping.

As in sleeping past 6 a.m. because I’m in Las Vegas with my husband. We’re away alone for the first time in almost four years.

And hopefully we’re also eating fabulous meals and winning lots of money at the blackjack tables.

Since I’m not around to connect today, I wanted to use this time for a brief announcement.

Some of you have hopefully been reading my summer guest post series, Around the Bonfire. It’s been a really amazing series so far. The posts have all resonated with me so deeply that it really and truly feels like we are around a bonfire having quiet conversation.

I’ve fallen in love with the series so much that I’ve decided to extend it and make it a permanent part of my site.

That means I’ll need some new writers to submit pieces for the series beginning in September.

Would you like to join us around the bonfire? Here’s what you need to know.

Around the Bonfire encompasses any story, reflection, memory, confession, or worry that you would share with your girlfriends around a bonfire, drinking a glass of wine. More specifically, I’d like to hear stories about self-image, contentment, motherhood, happiness, life balance, identity, the dynamic of female friendships, etc. – higher level girl talk, if you know what I mean. They can be humorous or not – as long as they are in keeping with the theme.

How To Submit

* Email your amazing post to kludgymom@gmail.com.

* Your post should not exceed 800 words (if possible). Please include a short bio with your blog, Twitter handle, etc.  I will love you even more if you can send a beautiful and relevant image that can be sized to 475 pixels wide (I will size it, just make sure it’s hi res). If not, I will find one and insert it into your post.

* If I love the post, I’ll contact you with your posting date! If I don’t, don’t be sad or pelt me with rocks and garbage.

* Preference will be given to writers who have not previously posted on KludgyMom (I like spreading the love!) but anyone is welcome to submit – even if you don’t have a blog, people (I know there are some of you who read here that don’t blog but may have an interest in writing something!).

Feel free to reach out via email with questions or ideas, too! I look forward to seeing many more of you around the bonfire this fall!

Sounds lovely. Too often, we feel like we are completely alone when there are plenty of other out there sharing in the same struggles. I knew instantly what I would write about. I will email you shortly.

I’d really like to do something for you, Gigi. Not sure what, but I’m putting it on my back burner to simmer for a bit. I hope to send you something you’ll love.

I don’t think we can share with each other enough. It’s series(es?) like this that makes me feel less alone. I love reading here. XO

This sounds great but I’m not a writer. I will wait who is the lucky
guest post. I love reading stories about life, self-image, contentment, motherhood, happiness, life balance, identity, the dynamic of female friendships all that you mentioned here.
cant wait :)
